About COTOFLEXI

The project of Prof. Zhuang “COTOFLEXI” is about “Computational Modelling, Topological Optimization and Design of Flexoelectric Nano Energy Harvester”. It is dedicated to support the development of next generation self-powered MNEMS based on flexoelectricity by developing multiscale and multiphysics computational framework. It will enable strain engineering of materials including 2D materials at different length scale through characterization, optimization and virtual testing. So that in the future flexible, soft and nontoxic materials could be enabled through straining engineering and design for compact, wireless and mobile devices such as medical implant. This project will support Dr. Zhuang with 1,5 Million Euros to build up her team in this research direction. The project is truly interdisciplinary including Mechanics, Material Science, Electronics, Nanotechnology, Applied Physics and Computational Science.
